CHARBLOX Premium Charcoal for Tandoor Ovens

CHARBLOX is the charcoal we recommend for every GULATI tandoor. Its dense hardwood blocks burn hotter and longer than ordinary charcoal, which suits the high, steady heat of tandoori cooking. Use about 5-6 lb for each tandoor session.

• Long-lasting - stays lit up to 5 hours
• 100% natural - made from hardwood sawdust
• No artificial chemicals, no binders
• No sparks

Where to Buy CHARBLOX

CHARBLOX Charcoal (10 lb, 2-count) is available at Costco. We don't sell it on tandoors.com.

How It's Made

CHARBLOX presses hardwood sawdust together in a patented process that uses steam, electric power and waste-heat drying - no chemicals or binders. The result is a cleaner, longer-burning charcoal: less refilling, steady heat and great flavor.

Lighting CHARBLOX in a Tandoor

Light 5-6 blocks in a charcoal chimney with natural firestarters. When they're mostly white and glowing (about 15-20 minutes), pour them into the tandoor and repeat once. With 10-12 blocks in, you're ready to roast on skewers; give it about 45 more minutes before baking bread on the walls.
